Procedures on Demand: Building a Procedure and Vascular Access Team

Monday, June 13, 2022

11:20am - 12:20pm ET

Our team of experienced Interventional Radiology Advanced Practice Providers have developed a Procedural and Vascular Access Team. In a large academic medical center, the demand for bedside procedures required re-evaluating our process for decreased length of stay and complications while improving quality outcomes.

Michelle Schnurr

Nurse Practitioner

I am a nurse practitioner in the Interventional Radiology department at The James. I received my master’s degree in Nursing from Ohio State University and have been working at the OSUCCC – James since 2013, where I specialize in treating patients who need minimally invasive procedures performed under image guidance to treat their cancer and cancer-related problems.

The James is a state-of-the-art cancer hospital that utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to comprehensive healthcare. I really enjoy the collaborative nature of working with various departments, as it enables us to provide the best possible care to our patients. Everyone at The James is committed to creating a cancer-free world, and that begins on the treatment side and in the clinical research that’s being performed daily.

During my time at the OSUCCC – James, I have participated in the Advanced Practice Provider’s Clinical Advancement Proficient program and currently serve as a volunteer at Physician Care Connections as well as an active participant in the OSU Wexner Medical Center’s Advanced Practice Development Council. I am credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and a member of the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses.
