Therese Fotabong Binfon, DNP, RN, CLNC, is an innovative Interprofessional Educator and the Chief Nurse Consultant with 14 plus years of progressive experience in direct patient care, healthcare management, quality, patient safety, project management, process improvement, and administrative functions. She is a collaborative leader who creates a practice environment that promotes development opportunities, staff engagement, and high-quality patient services.
Dr. Binfon is the Chief Nursing Consultant and Co-Founder of Elaka Legal Consulting, LLC. Her research interest is in empowering healthcare professionals using interprofessional education and mentorship. She is passionate about staff education, ongoing professional development, continuous improvement, and research in healthcare to improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Binfon's experience includes being a clinical educator for the Cardiac Institute of Harper University Hospital (Detroit Medical Center) and the Interprofessional Educator for the Radiology Department at Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States. Dr. Binfon has also served as a full-time faculty in nursing school and as the Clinical Performance Improvement Specialist (CPIS) at Grady Health System, Atlanta, GA., reviewing medical-related cases in the system brought by litigation or morbidity and mortality quality review. Her experience includes working as a nurse in Intensive Care Units (ICU): Medical-Surgical, Trauma, Cardio-Thoracic, Surgical, Neuro/Neurosciences, Cardiac, and Vascular, in varying capacities. Dr. Binfon has conducted analyses and reported preparation documents for program certification and recertification mandated by The Joint Commission. As an Interprofessional Educator, Dr. Binfon earned the Lean Six Sigma Yellow and green belt quality and patient safety certifications.
She obtained her BSN from the University of South Carolina Upstate, MSN from the University of West Georgia, DNP from Yale University School of Nursing, Postdoc in College Teaching from Yale University Poovu Center, and a post-graduate certification in Safety Quality, Informatics, and Leadership (SQIL) from Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Binfon is a member of Gamma Beta Phi Association, Sigma Global nursing Excellence Honor Society of Nursing, the American Association of Critical-Care, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, ARIN, ASRT (American Society of Radiologic Technologists), ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) and the alumni association of Harvard University and Yale University.

Dr. Jessica Shank Coviello is currently the Associate Dean of Faculty Development at the Cizik School of Nursing at the University of Texas, Houston. Prior to joining the faculty at Cizik School of Nursing, Dr. Coviello held a joint appointment as an Associate Professor at the Yale School of Nursing and as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in cardio-oncology at the Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. In her Yale faculty role, she taught in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) program and developed a mentorship program for junior clinical faculty. She also acted as clinical preceptor for final-year acute care nurse practitioner students interested in an elective in cardio-oncology.
Dr. Coviello has authored numerous publications in the field of cardio-oncology and has presented her work to both regional and national organizations. She is also the editor and a contributor for the text, Health Promotion & Disease Prevention in Clinical Practice, published in both English and Spanish in 2019 and in 2020.
Dr. Coviello is well known in the professional community as an innovator and leader. At Smilow Cancer Hospital, she wrote the needs assessment to support the funding for the cardio-oncology program and assisted in the development of the clinical program. At Yale-New Haven Hospital she created the Take Heart Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, that continues in its 37th year. She led the curriculum development and CCNE certification for the D.N.P. program at the Yale School of Nursing. Before arriving at Cizik in the fall of 2021, she developed an implementation science and innovation course for the Doctor of Nursing Practice program.

Katherine S. Santos is the Vice President of Strategy and Operational Excellence at Legacy Lifecare (L.L.), a leading and innovative organization that provides high quality and compassionate post-acute and residential care in Massachusetts. She oversees the organizational strategies for advancing clinical and operational excellence at L.L. A key focus is leading and facilitating efforts that enhance and expand a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement. Working with senior leadership, Katherine supports the formation, facilitation, tracking, communication and achievement of annual strategic goals.
Throughout her career, Katherine has established herself as a leading expert in healthcare quality and performance improvement. Prior to joining L.L. in 2019, she spent seventeen years working in this field at Brigham Health, most recently as the Director of Service Excellence and Performance Improvement at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital. Katherine is also on the Massachusetts Healthcare Lean Network leadership board, a grassroots organization with over 400 members and 100 healthcare organizations across Massachusetts and New England that promote learning within the healthcare quality and process improvement field.
Katherine is also passionate about sharing her experiences and teaching healthcare leaders how to lead quality improvement in their own organizations. She is a highly trained and experienced instructor of Lean, Kaizen, Work-Out, and Change Acceleration Process by G.E. Healthcare Performance Solutions. Katherine also holds several teaching positions in the Post Graduate Medical Education Department at Harvard Medical School, frequently serving as faculty in both the master and certificate programs attended by healthcare leaders across the globe. She is currently the Lead Program Director of the Safety, Quality, Informatics, and Leadership Program and the Leadership in Medicine: Egypt Program, the Associate Program Director of the Master of Healthcare Quality and Safety, and the Capstone Director of the Leadership in Medicine: Southeast Asia Program.
Katherine earned her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Harvard. She also holds a Master of Business Administration, with a concentration on Business Analytics, from M.I.T. Sloan School of Management.

Dr. Triston Smith is currently the Director of Structural Heart Interventions and the Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Service Line for Trinity Health System Ohio, a part of CommonSpirit Health. Prior to joining Trinity Health, he was the Chief of Cardiology at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia. In his current role, Dr. Smith oversees the clinical operations of cardiology, structural heart, cardiothoracic surgery, and vascular medicine at Trinity Health System. He is a core faculty member of the Trinity Health System Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine Residency programs. He also precepts 3rd- and 4th-year medical students and is an Associate Professor with West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, WVSOM.
Dr. Smith has authored numerous publications in the field of cardiology and has presented his work at both national and international meetings. He is a part of the planning committee for the American College of Cardiology Scientific Sessions for 2022 to 2024 and is a member of SCAI's publications committee. He is actively involved in all Common Spirit's national cardiovascular initiatives to streamline care, improve the patient experience, and contain cost. He is a graduate of Harvard Medical School's Safety, Quality, Informatics, and Leadership program. He is currently pursuing a Master of Global Management in Health Services at Thunderbird School of Global management.
Dr. Smith is well known in the professional community as a leader. As a fellow in training, he was featured in TCTMD, a leading publication in the cardiovascular field. In 2019 he was spotlighted in Cath Lab Digest for his work in elevating the standard of cardiovascular care at Wheeling Hospital. He is a member of SCAI's D.E.I. committee. He is actively involved in Implicit Bias training of SCAI's Board of Trustees, the Emerging Leaders Mentorship program, and leaders of all SCAI's councils and committees.
