Thrombocytopenia in Chronic Liver Disease

In the United States, nearly 4 million adults have chronic liver disease (CLD), which is a progressive illness. Patients with CLD have an imbalance of pro- and anti-coagulant factors and are at an increased risk for thrombosis and, paradoxically, also at risk of bleeding.
